EMDR Therapy
I am trained to offer EMDR therapy. I also have additional training in Flash-EMDR.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of PTSD stemming from Shock/Capital-T traumas.
Please read the resources in the following links for more information on what is EMDR therapy and what it is like to experience it.

What makes adults who come to counseling different is that they are ready for help.
Why People Come to Therapy?
People come to therapy because they want help to feel better. Many are suffering, feeling like that they’ve lost themselves to anxiety or depression, or an addiction, or to an accident or assault.
What is Individual Therapy About?
Individual therapy is traveling a courageous journey to heal from life’s wounds and rediscover your true authentic self. You can’t change the difficult things that have happened to you, but somewhere—in the harmony of all that is, all that was, and all that can be—you can find you. You can start to live your life and relate to others as you were designed.
I take a wholistic approach to therapy—inviting you to pay attention to all aspects of yourself –physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually. I see myself as your ally and guide. Together, we will slowly awaken parts of you that are turned down too low and safely calm and care for parts of you that are turned up too high. There, you can discover a greater sense of freedom, self-empowerment, and offer the best version of yourself to others.
As a therapist, I hold a strong commitment to provide a safe space that is accepting, curious, empathetic, and non-judgmental. And what we talk about will be completely up to you.
When Words Are Not Enough
Sometimes, talking about issues in your present, past, and future is helpful. But if you have been to traditional “talk therapy” before, you know that sometimes talking only takes you so far. Sometimes it can even retraumatize you and make it worse. As a Somatic/Attachment/Trauma therapist, I am able to offer you something more—perhaps something you haven’t heard or tried—yet.
Exploring sensations in your body, attachment styles, and ways to feel more regulated supports a deeper level of your story to be heard and cared for. You can expect sessions to be experiential, and I will facilitate your individual therapy with expertise and compassion. As one client put it, “Talk therapy is like learning to play checkers. Somatic therapy is like learning to play chess.”
